Week 1 On Your Path To Becoming a Data-Driven Black Belt

In your first week of training as a data-driven Black Belt, you will be mastering the White Belt level curriculum, and here are a few things you should know about this level:

  1. First, you are going to be focused on concepts. You won’t be asked to create campaigns or pick keywords. In your first week, we want you to learn about the foundational concepts of data-driven marketing, and this means you will see many of these topics reappear in the Blue Belt level very soon, and when they reappear, you will be expected to apply them in practical applications.
  2. Second, one of the most important concepts you will learn in the White Belt level has to do with metrics: we want you to understand how a data-driven marketer defines “success,” because this will be crucial to how you approach future lessons beyond the White Belt.
  3. Finally, before you take the White Belt exam, make sure you can answer the questions listed on the curriculum page in some detail. These may not be the only questions on your exam, but you should be able to provide a concise, 3-4 sentence answer to each of the questions, and once you can do that, you should be well-prepared for passing on to the next level.
