How We Use The Black Belt System To Test New Hires

You may not know this, but we built the Black Belt Training program as an internal tool for our digital marketing agency.  We know firsthand how difficult it is to hire people who have a deep understanding of data-driven marketing, and so in order to solve that problem for ourselves, we built this training program.

Now, before we hire a new digital marketing manager, or a technical data-driven marketer, we ask them to go through the Blue Belt marketing level and complete the two tests at the end.  For someone who understands the best practices involved in keyword research, ad writing, and AdWords settings, as well as how SEO can impact SEM results, the tests would be fast and easy.

If someone aces the blue belt tests, then they are likely going to be a great candidate to hire: highly motivated, coachable, and well on their way to being a data-driven expert.
